Bono Fortis celebrates Embroidery Day (VIDEO)
On May 19th Ukrainians around the world celebrated Vyshyvanka Day, paying homage to their folk traditions. At Bono Fortis the children and staff put on a show, singing Ukrainian Folk songs, dancing and reciting poems. With the help of Anastasia a local music teacher the children were able to learn and perform their parts in one day. Kids of all ages sang and danced, from toddlers to the eldest. Some kids were excited others a little nervous to preform but each one got up and acted their part in front of the crowd. This day the children learned about their cultural history, their folk roots, traditional Ukrainian embroidery, and what it is like to rehearse and preform in front of others.
